About Swansea University

Founded in 1920, Swansea is a vibrant, research-led university at the forefront of academic and scientific discovery. Swansea is Wales’s second largest city with a population of approximately 250,000. The campus is idyllically situated in 46 acres of rolling parkland, on the majestic three-mile sweep of Swansea Bay, enjoying a fantastic beachfront location and within easy reach of the bustling city. Swansea supports a range of academic disciplines: arts and humanities; business, economics and law; engineering (aerospace, civil, chemical, electronic, environmental, materials, mechanical, medical, nanotechnology); sciences (biosciences, computer science, geography, mathematics, physics); human and health sciences; and medicine. They have 500 undergraduate degree courses and 130 postgraduate courses, including MRes, MPhil and PhD.

September 2015 saw the opening of the Bay Campus which is a £450 million investment offering cutting edge facilities for students enrolling in the College of Engineering and School of Management.

January 2016 commenced with Times Higher Education Word University Rankings including Swansea University in the world top 200 list of the most international universities.
